Welcome to the blog for Lymm Angling Club's Junior Section. Here you will find out what is going on in the Junior section.

Under the Junior section we offer two services. Firstly operating under Lymm Angling Club's Academy we offer free places to an 'Introduction to Angling' course. A four-week intensive training course designed to teach the basics to those have never or rarely been fishing. After completing the course you will be able to fish to with very little assistance/supervision. Our Academy is based at Woodside Pool, Dutton. And secondly, leading on from this we offer a competitive element to our junior section for those with more experience. There is a less intensive coaching experience under match conditions. We intend to gather junior and advance to a level to do well at National and Regional Competitions against the best young talent in angling.

Woodside Pool

Woodside Pool is the home of Lymm AC Juniors. It is a great mixed fishing venue with vast stocks of Roach and Rudd upto 2lb. There is also good stocks of tench and small carp and is best known for Grass carp averaging around 3-4lb. There is also large card upto 14lb.

Directions:
From the M6/M56/A50 Intersection take the M56 towards Chester and leave the motorway at junction 11, Follow the A56 Chester Road until you reach the A533 Northwich Road. Follow the A533 for approximately 3 kilometres, passed Higher Lane, Hill Top Road and Delamere Way.
You will now pass Dutton Hollow Farm on the right hand side, approximatey 300 metres later, on the left hand side is the Woodside Pool Car Park.
All entry to the car park must approach from the left, heading from Runcorn.
All exit from the car park must turn left, heading away from Runcorn.

Woodside Pool Development

It is the goal of Lymm AC Juniors to develop Woodside Pool into our base of operations for Lymm AC Juniors Academy. We are in the process of putting together a project to redevelop the water and surroundings to house a classroom, toilet facilities and a fully wheelchair accessable fishing platform.


Due to the complexity of this project we have split project into three phases.

Phase 1:
  • Increase area of car park and pathway surrounding the farm side of the Pool. See below illustration of the additional land requested
  • Resurface of the car park and pathways to be wheelchair friendly
  • Replacement of surrounding fencing
  • Relocation of power cables to increase fishing spaces
  • Redevelopment of current fishing spaces













Phase 2:
  • Installation of a wheelchair accessible, waterless toilet.
  • Installation of a classroom
  • Ensuring wheelchair accessibility to both facilities.
Upon completition the whole site with be approved by the British Disabled Anglers Ass and the Environment Agency.
